CHROE

05.5

From 1993-1997 I attended Emerson College in Boston. It was during my Senior year I began my creative partnership with Christian White. During the last half of our senior year we both realized our love for similar music and our desire to write original music. We took our names, Christian & Joe and called ourselves CHROE. I know, really original huh? Well, we were young it was the beginning of my original music career. Up to this point I had only played Doors covers in The Unknown Soldiers. The first original I ever wrote with Christian was SEPTEMBER. That was easily our best song. After college we moved to Rhode Island and began playing shows around town. After a few months our duo turned into a full fledged band called The Verge. The recordings below are the only recordings made Chroe, they are definitely the products of young musicians just starting out. These recordings show our wide tastes in music, from covers to spoken word, instrumentals and acapella pieces. The highlights are the studio version of September, Same Old Tricks Again, and Bubble Garden. Please enjoy these blasts from the past!

Resonance was one of last things we recorded as CHROE before we formed THE VERGE.  It was a combination of spoken word, music, and sound effect design to tell a story. Ultimately it was never completed due to us joining THE VERGE, but we made the 1st part, here it is below for the first time ever!!!
